“I-I’m just confused,” Hope explained, pushing his plate aside. “When we were made l’cie,” he started, “It was the stuff of legends. It sure wasn’t fun, but we knew what was happening to us. We knew what needed to be done, and we knew the consequences. I’m just a bit freaked out, because this is the first thing like that to happen lately, but this time I have no idea what happened or what caused it!”
After a pause, the boy looked back at Serah with an apologetic smile on his face. “I know I’ve talked about this already. I’m sorry, it’s just really bothering me…”
“No, it’s okay! I’m afraid too… I don’t know where Lightning or Snow is… even my partner Noel is missing. The thing is that we have each other, and that’s what counts at the moment. We’ll find everyone else, set that as our goal. Though we have to take baby steps, we can’t just skip around and miss the vital areas.” Serah explained, a warm smile on her face.
“We should get going Hope. Meet me outside when you’re done eating, okay? Wouldn’t want to make your father wait any longer.” She told me, rising from her seat. The pinklette patted his head softly before she headed out.
While opportunity presented itself, Rikku grabbed her other gun and used Trigger Happy. The bullets, along with Serah’s strongest attack, was enough to get the creature to cry out loud one final time before dispersing into thousands of pyreflies.
The bright lights faded away, joining the rest in oblivion and another smile made itself welcomed on her lips. Rikku gave her friend a thumbs up before jogging next to her, her free arm resting on the pinklette’s shoulder. ”Kuut zup! Hey Serah? Am I just imaginin’ things, or are you getting stronger?”
Like she had thought, her compliment made the sibling smile. Whatever the time traveler had been going through, one things for sure; Rikku would aid her someway.
“Hehe, lets go!” With one of her hands in the air, the blonde began to march ahead where the fiend came from. Animatedly, she shouted at her companion. “My senses tell me that the item is really close!”
“You think so? I guess fighting enemies alone during my travels has made me gain more experience…” Serah said, nodding at Rikku. She was glad that her prowess in fighting was growing. That gave her a better chance at fighting Caius and finding Lightning, Noel and Snow.
Following Rikku, she threw her weapon back in the air, which transformed to Mog. She clutched the moogle in an embrace and tilted her head quizzically. “What item were we looking for again? All this fighting is giving me some memory loss!” The pinklette joked, a melodic giggle escaping from her mouth.
Hope nodded, still a bit uneasy from his stress from the previous night. As he and his companion sat at the nearby table so that he could eat, he barely touched his food. He almost felt sick. It was just impossible to process these events. Hope shouldn’t have been so confused, but he couldn’t help it. He just hoped he wasn’t worrying Serah too much.
Serah noticed he hadn’t touched his place. Lifting his head from his chin, the pinklette gave him a comforting smile. “Hey… you okay?” She asked him, a worried tone in her voice. The time traveler moved her tender hand from his chin to his face, she reminded him of Noel in some ways. “If there’s anything wrong, you can always tell me.”
“Righto!” The two circled the beast with Rikku cautiously waiting to fire her bullet. Her weapon for this outfit was a pistol much similar to her cousins, and thankfully it worked well against these types of dragons.
One, Two and.. Sticking out her tongue in concentration until the time made itself presentable, a metal bullet flew the distance and made contact with the crimson head. At first he shook his scaly front, releasing all confusion and anger in a loud roar before returning his attention on the pinklette.
Discontentedly letting out a small grunt, Rikku bouncing a couple of steps back to avoid the swinging tails full force. She knew she should have waiting for Serah to strike simultaneously, but it worth a shot.
His tail dangerously swung from side to side, his long neck as well while he did complete turn. For the split second, the duo’s eyes met, both nodding in agreement about their next strike, which hopefully would be their last if they put everything they had into it. Ready when you are Serah.
“Right!” Serah shifted her paradigm to Commando and spun her bow that changed to its sword form. The pinklette clutched her weapon and ran as fast as she could, activating her Meteor Javelin technique. Once she was close enough the the dragon, Serah swung with all her might, blasting the monster back at Rikku.
The time traveler swiftly back flipped and cast three Ruinga spells at the dragon. Once the pearls of light touched it, the spell blow up on contact, staggering the enemy. Twirling her sword back into its bow form, the pinklette jumped into the air and fired dozens of arrows that clung to the creature’s body.
“Go Rikku!” Serah yelled, looking at the blond.

Hope had been awake when Serah woke up, but he feigned being asleep. He didn’t want to get up just yet. He didn’t want to see that they were still Pulse knows where. Eventually, though, he dragged himself up, reassuring himself that they’d be home soon.
He read the note from Serah, still a bit preoccupied, but started out of their room and down the steps. When he got there, though, he had a hard time finding her. He really did not know where he was going.
“Hey Hope!” Serah called out from behind him. She just finished eating, and was getting ready to go back upstairs. The boy seems alienated, so she decided to join him. “You can eat there if you’re hungry. You want me to come with you?”
“Is something goin’ on?” Stopping in her tracks, Rikku met Serah’s gaze with concern in her eye. Since the two have met, they’ve really hit it off well. Both caused some mischief in the barmaid’s bar, teased a certain young man, giving each other advice and just being there for the other in general. Hearing the Farron sister speak like that…
Bouncing in front of her friend with a cheerful demeanor, the Al Bhed placed a hand on her shoulder, but quickly retreated when a sinister roar was heard not too far. A crimson scaled beast walked from behind the corner on the other side, apparently not liking visitors. This also caught Rikku by surprise, with was made clear by her puzzled features.
“What’s that doing here?” She asked loudly, her brain trying to come to a reasonable conclusion of why a high leveled beast was up and about. They were usually near the end of this little maze, keeping the real treasure hidden from the surface.
Serah’s movement caused Rikku to exit her trance. She remembered a few main points on dealing with these monsters, since they are tough. “Look out!” Just before the lizard like being shot out a flame tongue, the Spiran managed to push the sibling out of harms way. Apologizing for the abrupt action, she quickly grabbed her dress sphere and transformed into a Gunner. With the dragon charging up another of it’s fire attacks, the duo had enough time to come up with a plan.
“You can say that time traveling is taking a toll with me… I’ve just been tired lately, traveling all alone and such…” Serah explained, giving the Al Bhed a smile. She was grateful to have such a kind and caring friend like Rikku, it was people like her that gave the time traveler the motivation to move on. “Don’t worry about me sis, I’ll be fine!”
Just as Serah was about to place a hand on Rikku’s shoulder, she spotted the crimson beat approaching them, and it didn’t seem pleased at all. You didn’t need to cast Libra to find out that the monster was high leveled and dangerous.
“Who knows? Let’s just do our thing and take care of it quickly!” Serah told her, beginning to make her move. Just as she was about to sidestep, the beast quickly lunged at her with such quick speed. Luckily enough, Rikku pushed her out of harm’s way, saving her some cure magic and potions. “Thanks sis.” The time traveler chimed, quickly getting up.
Serah spun her bow around, changing paradigm from Ravager to Sentinel. Closing her eyes, she focused deeply and sent out the Elemental Guard skill, guarding he sisters from any elemental damage. “Hey Rikku,” Serah said, turning to her. “I’m going to distract the enemy while you hit it from behind. Once it weakens enough, let’s give it a pincer attack!”
Sprinting towards the other side of the Al Bhed, Serah began to use the Provoke sill, enticing the monster to attack her. The crimson beast turned towards the time traveler and shot out its flames towards her. The pinklette quickly used her Steelguard ability to defend to attack, nulling the fire due to the Elemental Guard skill.

“You sure you’re up for this?” The blonde asked again, waiting for the final confirmation from the time traveler. The two were about to enter the Via Infinito, which was a maze composed of many levels, and tough monsters. The thief has been here before on another occasion, and thanks to the other Gullwings, they got what they came for, and went out unharmed. This would be no different.
The Celsius received a small wave of some sort, and it was decided that the Al Bhed would go and investigate. Serah Farron dropped by Spira earlier and her path crossed with Rikku’s once again. However, Now that she was no longer alone, the fear she had was replaced by determination.
When the pinklette nodded, they simultaneously stepped inside the light in the back corridors of Bevelle, finding themselves into a deeper, lonelier area. Pyreflies wandered aimlessly, completing the dark, empty, uncomfortable feeling. Shrugging off the cold current that ran through her, Rikku grabbed her dual blades and spun them around her index finger. She took a couple of steps towards the and glanced back at her companion. “So.. what brings you back to Spira? Special occasion?”
After searching through time, Serah finally decided to head back to Spira. It had been quite a while, and truth be told, she missed her friend Rikku. Surprisingly, it wasn’t long before the two potential bikini models bumped into each other. After some small talk, the time traveler uncovered that the blond had some sort of mission under her sleeve. Being Serah, she wouldn’t want her friends to get hurt, so she decided to tag along.
Once inside Bevelle, Serah’s companion, Mog the moogle, transformed into her trusty bow. This time, it was the Seraphic Wing and not the Starseeker. Walking besides Rikku, she gripped the bow tightly and smiled at her companion. “You could say that I needed some time to… recollect myself. And I promised to see you again!” The last sentenced she chimed.
Serah raised the sign up high. The bright red words were sprayed onto a thick wooden piece of rectangular wood. Truth be told, she felt like a homeless person asking for money.
Hope nodded in agreement, not bothering to say anything. He watched Serah disappear into the bathroom, and sat back up on the edge of the bed. He didn’t have any extra clothes or anything, so he just merely kicked off his shoes and climbed into bed. It felt nice to finally be in a comforting setting.
Maybe they could get through until they reached his town. Just maybe. Then he’d be back with his dad, they could arrange for Serah to get back to wherever she needs to be, and everything would be okay again. But, what if this happens again? What if it happens again and I’m NOT lucky enough to find someone to help me…? He was thankful that Serah happened to be there with him this time. Hopefully it just doesn’t happen again. Before he realized it, Hope had fallen asleep.
Come the next day, Serah woke up earlier than Hope. The pinklette glanced at the silver hair lad, and headed downstairs. Stopping near the door, she scribbled a note on the table for him.
I’m going to go ahead and eat my breakfast. I’ll see you downstairs.
-Serah
She left the note on his bed and headed downstairs.
As Serah turned and left the room, Hope found his way to the bathroom. The first thing he did was splash some water on his face. He was so flushed, and the cold water felt nice on his burning skin. As he exited and sat on the bed, waiting for Serah, he was lost in thought. He hoped his dad was okay. He hoped he wasn’t worried about where his son was.
Hope was still confused as to how he got there as well, but that matter seemed to have passed a while ago. But still, why him and Serah? And why did they appear where they were? And how? He didn’t have the slightest idea about what could have happened. He didn’t expect that Serah would know either, so he decided to let it go. All this thinking left him laying on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
After some time of speaking the the manager, Serah made her way back to the room. She had already arranged their breakfast and bought their supplies for the next day. Who know, perhaps some sort of evil might pop up the next day?
The pinklette carefully pushed the door open and saw Hope lying down. He seemed… lost in a way that she couldn’t explain. Truth be told, the time traveler sympathized for the young man. For someone so young, he experienced such traumatizing events that would no doubt stay in his mind for the most, if not all, of his life.
“Hey Hope!” Serah exclaimed, beaming. “I’ve finished up the things downstairs. You should go ahead and rest, I’m going to take a shower.” She told him, heading for the bathroom.
